Dr.Yuliya Burmagina-Mikhael – Specialist Obstetrician & Gynecologist

Dr. Yuliya Mikhael brings to Cooper Health Clinic  15 years of experience in the management of Obstetrics & Gynecology patients, six of those years working in Dubai. She is well versed in managing all types of high risk pregnancy, complications of early and advanced pregnancy, infertility, normal and complicated labor and delivery and all kinds of obstetric and gynecological emergencies. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to pursuing her academic knowledge by participating in local and international obstetrics and gynecology conferences and congresses.
 
Her papers have been published in international  medical journals and educational websites. Her main interest is prenatal diagnosis and particularly  Fetal Ultrasound, including 2D, 3D, 4D, Doppler, etc., in which she was granted a Diploma from University Versailles St. Quentin-en-Yvelines, France. 

Dr. Yuliya is certified in the First Trimester ultrasound by FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation (London)).

She  has already established The First Trimester Screening program in Cooper Health Clinic   which involves so-called  Nuchal Translucency (NT) Scan and other essential fetal assessments e.g. nasal bone.

Apart from doing nuchal scans Dr. Yuliya is performing other essential fetal assessments like:

- Fetal Morphology scan , which is detailed analysis of all internal and external structures of the fetus using 2D and 3D  techniques.

- Fetal Doppler scan , which is  an thorough assessment of fetal and maternal circulation using color  and pulsed Doppler  technique.

- Amniocentesis – an invasive technique  of amniotic fluid sampling  which enables  exact determination of fetal karyotype or may be used for number of other diagnostic tests.

- Chorionic villus sampling (CVS)  -  an invasive technique of  placental tissue sampling  at early pregnancy stages for genetic analysis.

- Amniodranage  - procedure of removal of excess fluid around the baby in some pathological conditions.

Dr Yuliya Mikhael  is a member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) and World Association of Perinatal Medicine (WAPM).

She has gained good teaching experience and has been a tutor at Dubai Medical College for Girls and a supervisor for DOHMS residency program.
